Up North Ridge, down...death
The north ridge was long, undulating and tiring, but our descent route..sucked. Never mind the fact that I awoke fighting a migraine (Relpax to the rescue!), our descent was a joke. First we encounted a charred slope covered in deep ash and so steep that we employed snow travel techniques to descend. Then we had to avoid rocky outcrops, then make our way down an avy-debris choked gully. Finally, an ashy stroll out through burned woods to the road. Fortunately, we laughed at our situation the entire way.
