Fun little steep one
Done this one a few times. It’s a great little trainer peak for quads and glutes. Also great for cardio as it is steep.

Geocache hike
This was my second hike to the top of this one, coming up from the Heritage park trail and descending via the Georges Hollow trail. A string of great hiking geocaches is located along the trail and makes it a bit more fun if you are interested in that activity. By the time I got back to my truck, I had found 17 and my friend Gerry and added 12 new ones to his collection. We had great weather and found the trail down to be really busy on a saturday in May.

Red Butte and Wire
Came up from Georges Hollow to the living room then ascended to Red Butte. Followed the ridge to the top of Georges Hollow then up to the summit. Descended via the pioneer park route. Slippery descent. Very steep with loose rock. Overall an easy peak. Luckily it wasn't super hot today.
Several times in the 1980's and 1990's, mostly late winter.

Mount Wire
Great mountain to climb in the heart of winter after a few days of snow melt. Encountered some snow towards the top that was easy to navigate and had been walked on plenty. Should have brought my microspikes but trekking poles were plenty. The view of the Salt Lake valley is pretty good.

Post Grandeur Climb for Cactus to Clouds
Ran & hiked up from the Zoo right after running up Grandeur Peak with my wife. Up in 44 minutes, down in 18. Super cold and windy with snow on the trail that I was sinking in to the top half. Climbed the tower and then got out of there so I didn't freeze! Training for the 10,000 ft vertical climb that is the Cactus to Clouds route of Mount San Jacinto!
Great hike for beginners. I'm new to the SL area and it was just the right hike for getting acclimated to thinner air. The views of the ridge behind Wire were gorgeous and I'll be excited to run them one day.
My party and I were invited to climb up the old beacon tower at the summit. We shared stories of great hikes to do in the area. A favorite memory of my first few days in SLC.
My friend just moved to Salt Lake, and I'm trying my darnedest to get her acclimated quickly! Took her up to The Living Room and then we summited Mt Wire via George's Hollow. Met some fun transplants atop the beacon tower!

Reflectors gone!
Last year I hiked up the mountain while the reflectors were still there. Haven't been up since they were removed.
6/28/2014: Hiked up there again and took some pictures. The guys who removed the reflectors were very thorough; there isn't a single scrap of metal or any trace of the reflectors left!
Anyone else notice that the repeaters are now gone? As of this week?

In fact, the sad story is many will ignore our greetings and well wishes. What has Covid-19 really done to us as a society!!
