A bit more bushwhacking to start out than I had expected. Took the 13ers.com West Ridge route. Hiked with James W up to about 12k - when he decided his broken toe wouldn't let him proceed. Saw one other guy coming down from the summit and a couple of guys on 4-wheelers. That's it. Beautiful day!

South Ridge
CMC hike for C Classification. Easy and worthwhile hike. It was a little windy, and clouds started rolling in as we were descending, but it didn't rain on us. I hardly broke a sweat on this one.

Solitude on Silverheels!
Had the mountain all to myself on a summer weekday.

Beaver Ridge
Beautiful day - hardly any wind and sunny - but very deep snow up Beaver Ridge - even with snow shoes I sometimes sank in up to my hips (and I barely weigh 130 lbs) - quite a workout to gain the ridge.
Saw not one other soul the whole day

Scott Gulch
Great weather- no clouds all day, and surprisingly no wind on the summit. I postholed a bit depsite snowshoes. Quite a few bighorn sheep were on the summit ridge.
Tip: start just to the north of Scott Gulch (cross over the highway bridge from the unmarked parking area).
Hopefully one of my "usual suspect" companions will remind me what this was like. I just remember it was an enjoyable climb.

Boring standard route, but hit Palmer Peak on the way back. Cloudy but mild, had the place all to myself (with my dog).

Silverheels Stupidity
After taking the wrong ridge and then floundering about in waist deep snow with Heather "Champ" Pore, finally achieved the summit. Then post-holed back. Go Special Idiots!

Beaver Ridge
I took the BR route up to the summit as the clouds built and managed to stay out of any precip until a couple sprinkles on the way out.

E Ridge
Roach's description of the start of this route was a tad misleading - got to dance across some beaver dams when I missed the start of the trail. After that, I fought a minor muscle injury from my previous climb that made a rather simple climb exhausting. Still a great day of hiking on a gargantuan peak. 63/100.
I really enjoyed the solitude of this experience. A lovely mt.

14ers.com Dam Climb
This was my fourth climb of Silverheels. This was by far the hardest of the four. We accessed from Hoosier Pass. There was a lot of up and down before getting to the mountain. It was a snowy windy day with some whiteouts at times.

This was my first climb of Silverheels. I went up the easy west ridge after accessing from highway 9 south of Hoosier Pass.

Re: Southern SlopesHow was the overall route? Snowshoes needed? And how deep is the stream? Many thanks.
