Funny?

Bob,

"The truth is that Walt probably just didn't like me and also felt a little inferior as a South Lakes Seahawk in the presence of an Oakton Cougar (we graduated high school the same year from schools in adjacent districts), but I told him I understood, and we went our separate ways."

Really?

Re: Funny?

Nah, just a little sarcasm to rile Walt up a little. But it is true about the neighboring schools at the same time.

Re: Funny?

It's good poetic license. Hope nobody thinks I don't climb with folks from rival high schools. Hell, I don't even remember playing you guys in anything, 'cept maybe soccer?

Another cool trip report. Really brings me back to that moment where we were sitting in our adjoining cars yelling through the downpour. I didn't stop driving until I hit North Dakota.

Thinking back, the second day was so shitty that I'm really kicking myself in the ass for not doing Reynolds the first day. Ah well, now I"ve got an excuse to go back. Hey, glad you made Oberlin, too.

Keep up the great stuff amigo. Hopefully I'll catch you next summer or thereabouts....

Re: Funny?

True about the sports-- you guys were in the Great Falls District, I think, and we were in the Northern District, so we didn't meet up all that often. They've redone all that now; I don't even know what the districts are these days.

The Way a TR Should Be!

Bob,
The way a TR should be - a good story with useful beta! I'm sure I'll come back and reference this the day I finally make it to Glacier.

I considered breaking my recent TR for the Bells into several shorter ones - and in hindsight maybe I should have - I probably could have supplied more beta that way (but the one big monster TR makes it easy to share with non SP family and friends!).

Re: The Way a TR Should Be!

Thanks a lot, Mark; I've been trying to do this with my recent trip reports, telling a story but also commenting on route conditions.

If your main purpose was to share your TR with family and friends, then one TR was probably the right call. You can always go back and break it up later if you wish; I actually did that once for a three-peak TR from the Sierra Nevada.

Fun little peak

Good report Bob - I followed the cairned route and didn't find any Class 4, at least what I consider Class 4. If the SW face of Reynolds is Class 3, there's nothing close to the hardest sections of that with the cairns on Oberlin; I considered it a hike for sure...
