I once hiked over from Eaton Saddle a long time ago and I really thought Mt Markham was a great peak. The rocky profile and the short scramble to the top made it a very worthy peak.

Snowy
I wasn't thinking when I left the house, even though I can see the peak from my back yard. So, I hit the trail my my sneakers, only get get my feet soaked. It was a nice day, though. Mt. Wilson Road was closed, so I had to hike up the road to Eaton saddle. The dog had a grand time.

Eaton Saddle
One of five peaks that day with my brother-in-law. I was just getting into hiking and climbing and I credit my partner on this trip with really introducing me into this pastime.

Consolation Peak
Since SR-2 was closed due to rockfall, Mt Markham was our cheap ass consolation hike for driving 4 damn hours to San Gabriels. :P My daughter and I hit it "hard" and Class 2'd up the tallus highway on Markham's north face. Interesting views even though I thought it was Mt Lowe. Oh well, we turned via the trail and peed in the tunnel. Fun day.
From Cobb Estate TH: hit Echo Mtn, Muir Pk, Inspiration Pk, Mt Markham and Mt Lowe. Hiked with Gordon, Coco the Dog, and Sophie the Dog on a very hot April day. Up Castle Canyon/East Lowe trails and down the Mt Lowe railline/West Lowe trails.

Nice Peak
Hiked with family from Eaton Saddle to Mount Lowe and on our way back up to Mount Markham. Beautiful but cold November day.
I have the dates for these guys written down somewhere. I did this one via Eaton Saddle and the big old tunnel. It was extremely foggy that day. I felt great and the hike reminded me of the Sunset Firebreak. Really spooky seeing that tunnel appear around the corner in the fog.
We completed Markham and Occidental today and I loved this hike. Did a little geocaching at the top, snapped some photos from the end, and signed a trail register that was in a tupperware canister. I would recommend coupling this hike with at least one other, while in the area.
The only one that is more then a simple plod up in this area.

Mt. Markham and San Gabriel
Hiked to the top along the use trail from the saddle between Mt. Lowe and Markham. Kinda lousy weather, cold and clouds with no view. Went on to hike San Gabriel peak later.

From Eaton Saddle
This was supposed to be the first peak of 4-5 that day. Unfortunately the weather turned out to be way worse than forecasted. We still went up Markham, which was fully cloud covered. By the time we could get down, we were fairly wet and it started raining more. We decided to leave it for the next time and drove up to the Ranch for some food instead. Hiked with Mike (wetsponge007).

FinallyOne of the peaks I hadn't been to yet. Nice short, steep trail. We did it late in the afternoon so it had cooled off a lot by the time we came down.
