Totally cool pictures and video, looks like it was pretty bad up there. To summit in those conditions, most people would have turned around and gone home, i admire you will and determanation to summit the mountain.
"Mt. Baldy on Super Bowl Sunday was just within the bounds of adventure or whether it courted being the subject of an evening news rescue story."
Don't you guys know you are suppose to sit home eat fattening snacks and drink beer on Superbowl Sunday!?!?!? ;)
Glad to see you guys out and in such fine weather. ;p
It's a shame the lady of the bunch did not get to go all the way though. :(

Re: Family Men...
I know it verges on anti-Americanism not to gather in front of the TV on Super Bowl Sunday. Travis had an out, he is Canadian. The rest of us were simply kept away from the chips, beer, and commercials by the lure of adventure. Don't know about Tom and Taco Del Rio but I salvaged my standing as a good American by catching the last quarter of the game.
Pretty much did the same thing back in '06. Used my GPS track to get down as well while struggling through waist deep powder. The purest sense of "FUN" :-)
It looks like these latest storms had a wetter content than in Mar '06. The snow back then was very light and powdery; even deep in the snow, you could still move through it pretty well.
Glad I missed it! Congrats to you all for going thru with it and having a great adventure - and thankfully a safe one. I'll be in L.A. for a couple of weeks sometime about the middle of March, would love to join you for an excursion, day hike or overnighter. Anything planned? Vic
Being fairly new to this, the weather conditions made my partner and myself a bit uncomfortable at a summit attempt, so at 9k feet we decided to rope up and practice technical climbing techniques (self arrest etc).

Re: The slash char makes the title pictureThanks. We got pretty much what we expected in terms of conditions, but decided to push on so long as the avy danger was minimal.

Re: 9k footers ;-)You mean on Super Bowl Sunday? Because we saw a couple of people roped up on our way up that day.
