Got the Summit
This time my dog and I successfully summited by bushwacking our way up using a route up from the south. We started from our campsite so it was a 15 mile day. Fifty feet below the summit was a deceased mountain goat....really sad. The views were simply amazing. 3 hours up and 3 hours down (from our campsite).

No Summit
We hiked from our camp several miles along the forest service road and then tried access from the west but we encountered a gate and a No Trespassing sign blocking the road. We returned to camp, got the Jeep and drove to the access point described on this page. There is a large olywood sign at the access point which states No Public Access so we didn't summit. Beautiful day anyhow.
