with South Peak
From San Pedro Valley County Park. Pleasant winding trail tip to ridgeline fire road. Tagged Peak Mountain (1820+ fee) along the way. After reaching the North Peak, slipped over to the South Peak which involved some rock-hopping among dense poison oak. Did not make it to the further Montana Knob, which promised more of the same.

From Montara SB
With my family (Matt and Nora). We topped out just barely above the marine layer after a foggy, but interesting hike. Did a couple of nearby bonus peaks as well.

North Peak Access Road
Parked at the second, smaller easterly Montara Beach parking area, just room for a half dozen cars. Hiked up the North Peak Access Road to top, then back down to turnoff signed "To Pacifica, Linda Mar" hiked up this to 4-way junction, went left past bench and up to San Pedro Peak. Fog on Montara Mountain socked the route in about half way up with no more than 50 feet visible at the top.

Foggy Day at Montara Mountain
Good workout but it was foggy, thus not the best view from the peak.

3 peaks
Went to the 2 main peaks with the towers and over to the west peak which has arguably the best views. Came up from Montara Beach regular route. Nice day, good clear views, lotta people coming and going.

Ocean!
Having grown-up 150 miles from the ocean, this one was a treat when I first moved here on a Sierra Club day trip.
Looking to beat the heat so thought this would be good - and it was, the hike is fantastic but to drive over here from the far east bay is tough. Repeated the hike in 2012.

Cool trailI really enjoyed the coastal fauna on the Brooks Creek trail. Light clouds kept the temperature in check, but allowed for views.
