Italian Expedition 1996
Italian expedition in Oct 1996.
We tried the East ridge, arrived till an unidentified point situated between elevation 5984m and 6400m. Than we came back to base camp and tried the normal route. Equiped an advanced base camp at the base of the pillars, camp 1 at the summit of the central pillar (french route), and an equipement depot about 200m below the ridge at 6000m (more or less) . Then bad weather didn't allow us to continue further.
This magic mountain, its real population and the monks of Konga Gompa remain and will remain for ever in my mind as a dream of ligth; a fantastic experience with 2 great friend of mine, in a really wild world !
