Millenium sunset

Millenium sunset

Millenium sunset. This picture was taken on December 31st, 1999, just above the Uskovnica. With my Jasmina we were waiting the sun to go down and that time felt appropriate to wish each other a Happy New Year.

Beautiful end of Millennium!

Although we know it is just invented date and that one day makes no difference still the switch of 1000 years represents something special to us, even Sun contributed to that, beautiful shot! I had fantastic Millennium sunrise but that mountain still isn’t on SP to post it ;-)

Re: Beautiful end of Millennium!

Hi, Sasa! Nice to hear from you. Yep, you never miss an answer, very kind of you. The whole today I had a discussion with Bor from Ljubljana. He suddenly posted 3 summits of Julian Alps. What are you doing? Exams are more or less over (or you have some in autumn)? Mountaineering? Preparing something? With Jasmina we just returned from a 4-day mountaineering in Dolomites. First two days I had hard time with her. She was so fit after 20-days hiking and cycling around Slovenia! But on the last day (the hardest one) we were already equal :-))

She's sending nice greetings to you :-))

Re: Beautiful end of Millennium!

Hi Vid! I'm back from a 9 day trip to BiH and Monte Negro :-) We've been for 6 days on Zabljak and all over Durmitor. I have lot of great shots so I'm going to add 3 new mountains in coming future but first I have to settle down. It's hard to return to everyday normal life after such an amazing trip. And in 3 weeks I'm heading to Macedonia for another 9 day trip :-) From the shots you posted I can see you had a great trip in Dolomites but just wait to see Durmitor at its best :-) I had a great debate in my head what is more beautiful: Julian Alps or Durmitor. I don't know if you want to know the conclusion :-)

Send lot of greetings to Jasmina and tell her to tell you that it is about time that we have one nice Velebit trip! :-)

Re: Beautiful end of Millennium!

My dear Sasa! Durmitor awfully calls for its own pages! You're the one who can do it. Comparaison with Julian Alps? I know Durmitor is great, but, even if I didn't see it, I'd cast my vote to Julian Alps. Actually, this is the same as the question which one of your children you like best. You can't answer that. When we were with Jasmina in Dolomites, we were again full of admiration - as if those were the most beautiful mountains on the World. But you can't rank them just like this. So, why didn't you ask yourself this question and tried to compare Durmitor with Velebit, he, he.

For this summer my vacation is over (just one week), so I can't foresee my next longer vacations. But believe me, Sasa, with Jasmina we are thinking of Velebit very often. We were not just polite that day in Zadar, and we certainly will come again. And not once! And so it holds to you - please for sure let me know when you firs time come in Slovenia again. Have a good campain in Macedonia!

Cheers!

Re: WAW!

Thanks Bor, I'm glad you like it. Yes, this is one of my favourites. It doesn't belong to any big mountain, but still, it's memories that count.
