McHenrys Moment

McHenrys Moment

A moment of repose along the shelf above Black Lake, Rocky Mountain National Park. Enroute to McHenrys, a noble peak that co-hosts the heady scrambler classic Arrowhead Arête (cl 4), this mountain is autonomous from its neighbors by steep cliffs and long approaches. Its features represent an interesting symbol in difficulty. It is of course home to McHenrys Notch, the first major obstacle to walking along the Continental Divide for thousands of miles to the North.
