2nd Ascent  Sucess!

I drove in from Las Vegas, so didn't begin hiking up until one o'clock. The road in is pretty rough. I climbed the summit block in my boots and used 30' of webbing to assist in the down climb. It's not that hard. Just finesse, friction, and a few finger tip holds will get you past the hard spot.

Warm in February  Sucess!

I led the summit block, and dropped a hand line to the others. It had an awkward first move, then eased up towards the top. There is a great boulder wedged up there to run a line through.

From Coyote Canyon  Sucess!

My wife Penelope and I scrambled up Manly Peak from the end of Coyote Canyon several miles down the road from the town of Ballarat. This was a challenging scramble of some 6,200' of elevation and about 5 miles as the crow flies. Pen has previously done the regular route a thought this was way more challenging...Great trip in May of 2010.

70 Peaks In 30 Days  Sucess!

A month long solo trip in the desert, climbing peaks every day. I did Manly in the morning with extreme wind blowing. Climbed the chimney route on the summit boulder and then went over to do Needle Peak in the afternoon. It rained slightly when I was on Needle.

Here's my trip report.
