Maerchenwiese / Mlaka

This beautiful meadow has very different names in the two languages, coexisting in this area. In German it is called Maerchenwiese (A Fairy Tale Meadow). Its Slovenian name is far more prosaic - Mlaka (Pond). Perhaps once there used to be water here. In the background is the north wall of Vrtača/Wertatscha. Summer, 2011.

fairy tale

indeed... reminds me my favourite spot in Tatras a bit, but is that grass cut by someone or it just looks that perfect from nature ?

The grass is natural. I think the soil is special, so that grass can not go wild.
