Yep, every year on remembrance Sunday @ 11.00. For years I've been promissing myself that I'd attend and finally got around toit tghis year. If you get a chance give it a try, but don't expect the place to yourself.
I really enjoyed the report. Here, in the U.S., we celebrate Veterans' Day on November 11th. Each year I help organize (the past two years I've chaired) a ceremony for the local Boy Scouts at which we retire U.S. flags in honor of all military veterans. This year we retired 858 flags. It's a big event to properly fold the flags, prepare the firelay, and perform the ritualized ceremony. It's very moving. Unfortunately, it's done in a local city park rather than the hills or mountains. That would be cool. If you're interested, you can see images of this years here: Webelos Woods and Flag Retirement
...there was a Rememberance Day service although I have stopped to read the summit memorial a couple of times. Last time I was walking in the Lakes I did your route in reverse and I'm sure I took a photo of the memorial with the names of all the climbing club members who died in the war. Must find time to go somewhere round Borrowdale or Skiddaw soon.

Nice ReportGood to see a trip report from the Lake District for a change. Is there a service every year on Great Gable?
