Thanks for adding this. I climbed Layton Peak while trying to climb Thurston Peak from the north. I was unaware that it had a name or what people called it. I found the location of your coordinates. Your GPS says that is fairly close to a summit. Which one is it though?
Is it this baby? A tad left from the Cabin Trail? Off the topo I read 41.0975°N, 111.8508°W - or in WGS84, that's 41° 5.85'N, 111° 51.10'W , a bit too far North vs. your coord set. Anyways it is much closer than the lat / lon spec'd on the page you composed. The ones you have on the page translate to 41° 8.10'N, 111° 55.14'W, good 5 miles off.
There is still a reference to the direction west when it should read east. We have GPSed the TH elevation at near 5,200' plus or minus a couple of feet. ZeeJay's elevation of 9,571' is within 2' of our GPS reading at the summit. That would make the elevation gain for the hike (without any undulation factor) of4,371'. So that needs to be addressed in the planning for the hike. Yes, the Community Trail is quite steep in spots. I would advise anyone doing this hike in January-early May to be advised that snow may make it difficult if not impossible to follow the trail above about 7,500'.

the coords are way offand the peak page needs to be attached to Wasatch North area page. Pretty nice start otherwise. (DD.DDD is the std coords format)

Re: Fixed the coordinatesLayton Peak sounds like a good name to me.
I zoomed up on the map as far as I could and it says that the elevation is 9,536 feet.

Re: Fixed the coordinatesThe correct coordinates for this peak are 41.09235 111.85496 and the correct elevation is 9571. Peak 9536 is the next bump to the north.
