"As an adolescent I aspired to lasting fame, I craved factual certainty, and I thirsted for a meaningful vision of human life - so I became a scientist. This is like becoming an archbishop so you can meet girls."

Winter Treks are ToughGreat experience overall. Did this trek as a warmup for climbing Mexican volcanoes a week later. Much tougher in the winter, the last few miles were especially difficult due to snow, weather, and ice.

Waku wakuA grand day out through a myriad of environments, hunting around for geocaches and the trail under all the snow. Big cliffs and big views.

many good memoriesmeny good memories of this trail, of the race, of hiking to the cliffs.
I have no recollection how many time I ran it- sometimes it would be weekly in preparation for the race. Once I ran into a bear and we both got frightened and ran away in opposite directions.
