Should of done it in 14 hrs but got lost on a talus heap and that killed my time. Awesome peak. Good way to celebrate the 4th of july

My first visit to the High Uintas
Solo backpack into Henry's Fork Basin and climb via Gunsight Pass. Clouds building by noon, but no thunderstorms. Hiked out after the climb to get away from the mosquitoes.

Kings
8/17/2013 Got an early (5 am) start from camp at Dollar Lake to beat forecasted thunder storms. We reached the summit at 8:15 am. Weather was holding nicely while on top I so headed over to South Kings. On the way back the weather started to turn. Made really quick time back to Anderson Pass as the skies darkened. We were back to camp by noon and broke camp and were back to the trailhead by 3:15 pm. Fun two days that included Gilbert, Gunsight, East Gunsight, Kings, and South Kings.
-Climbed Kings Peak as part of a backpack with my dad sometime during the summer of 1999. Cannot remember the exact dates.

This was my second time to the summit of Utah, this one as part of a Kings-Emmons ridge traverse. Sunrise from the summit was wonderful.

Beautiful!
From Island Lake in the Henry's Fork we took the Gunsight Shortcut. First ones to summit that day at about 9:30AM!! Took the Toilet Bowel back down and across the basin back to camp. Love this hike/summit, what a beautiful area!

Weird wilderness
Weird experience. Saw a person flying a kite, incisive barking dog w/o owner near the shoot. Lot's of horses without owners. awesome day for a hike. Nice solo time with some great weather. saw two moose on this trip!

With Bill and wonderdog Toby
I started about 1 AM from near Little Superior Lake in the Garfield Basin. Got to the saddlepoint at Anderson Pass about 6 AM. Happened to meet up with Bill and his wonderdog Toby there. We three got the top around 8 AM. Great views.

Trail Run/Summit Scramble
Approached from Henry's Fork. Jogged most of the trail below Gunsight then scrambled to the summit. There was a storm approaching so we only stayed at the summit for about 20 minutes. We got caught in some heavy rain/hail on the way out and took shelter in some small trees for awhile but still made it back to the car in about 10 hours. Fun day trip with my friend Tony.

Great conditions
As warm on top of the mountain as it was down at Dollar Lake. Gentle breeze, 75 degrees, bright sunshine, perfect conditions!

3rd State HP
Fun backpacking trip with my friend and dog. Camped in the trees on the way up. Reached the summit the next morning. Camped one more night and just hung out on the mountain. It was a lot of fun. This was the last hike I went on with my dog. He got hit by a car 2 days after we got back. Great last memories with him!

State HP #42!
Technically, this was a solo hike, but another day-hiker (fellow State HPer "John" from Cincinnati) caught up to me near Dollar Lake and we continued the rest of the ascent together. It was very nice to have company. It was very grueling to do this as a day-hike, with only less than one hours' sleep in a 36-hour timeframe, when the hike was complete. My legs and feet did not appreciate this long single-day jaunt, but this weekend would be full of all of the classic elements of a solo out-of-state Redwic peakbagging trip: Long drives, long hikes, little sleep.

Kings Emmons Traverse
Hit the summit of Kings around 8am. Started the day before from Swift Creek. Bivy in upper Yellowstone basin. Climbed Henrys Fork peak and made traverse over Kings to Emmons and Glacier Peak. Exited via Swift Creek on the 19th.
I climbed this peak years ago as a young teenager with my father. Something clicked on this hike. I knew that I would be doing a lot more hiking and summiting in my life to come.
