Thank you for posting this interesting and frank account. I've been considering doing Kili but have often heard how tough it is. Having a day by day description of exactly what it's like is really useful and more helpful than any number of 'difficulty gradings' in travel brochures! Congratulations on reaching the top.

This diary is fantastic Nigel, what a honeymoon! I am considering the climb up Mt Kili, was thinking of doing it over Christmas but I think I might need to be more mentally prepared since reading your article. Well done you both, what an amazing test of your endurance.
