It is good to see another of the "big guys" taken care of by someone who has been in and climbed in the area. Most of us at SP probably have not and will not climb many 8000ers.
Holy cow, what an awesome page. Tons of great info. I grew up reading the books by guys like Walter Bonatti, Gaston Rebuffat, Lionel Terray, Joe Brown, Chris Bonington and Herman Buhl .
I followed their exploits as I turned the pages of those magic carpets they provided to high places. Your page reminds me of one of those magic carpet rides, a ride to one of the truly great peaks of this planet. Cheers for such a great job.
Wow, thanks Dean!! I have a room full of mountaineering books too, and to think that my page made you reflect on those guys is the highest of compliments.
I was certainly fortunate to spend some time around this awesome mountain. Take care, Nelson
Thanks for the vote. Glad you like the page. by the way, I had previously checked out your fantastic Uncompahgre / Wetterhorn trip report and photos, but hadn't commented. An oversight. I'll do so now. Really nice stuff.
Thanks very much! Your webpage is awesome. I'll need to spend some more time there. Fantastic travels you have done. By the way I did one long bike ride, from New York City to San Francisco (4,200 miles by our route), in 1972. Still a highlight of my life, but a piece of cake compared to your rides. Take care.
Thanks Aleksandar! It took quite a bit of research and effort to put it together. I'm pleased you appreciate it. I was lucky to trek in that truly amazing area. See you around.
Thanks for the vote and comment. I have plans to rescan and resubmit some of the photos - I've improved my technique quite a bit - so check back in a few months!
