Overview

Judith Peak is the highpoint of the Judith Mountains. This small mountain range rises above the central Montana plains just northeast of Lewiston. Few people ever visit this summit. A check of Peakbagger.com shows only one registered ascent of Judith Peak as of November 2017. Judith Peak has a prominence of 1,770', and an isolation of 26.8 miles.

Getting There

From the intersection of Highways 87 and 191 in Lewiston, drive north on 191 for 10.5 miles to the signed Maiden Road. Turn right, zero your odometer, and start heading east. The road is initially paved, but turns to gravel after several miles. At 9.5 miles, you will reach the intersection with Judith Peak Road. Turn left, and start heading north. At 12.5 miles, you will reach a fork in the road. Stay left, and start heading west towards the summit. You will reach the top at 13.5 miles. The low clearance road is in very good condition the entire way. There are several communication facilities at the summit.

The latitude and longitude for this peak put it somewhere in southwestern Wyoming, near Steamboat Mountain.
