Too brief

A JMT page really deserves it's own page (sort of like an area page i.e. Evolution Group), with a list of peaks that one can climb while hiking the trail. Even just concentrating on the hiking, a lot more can be added, including photos.

a litte longer

the basics are there but maybe a little more in depth would be nice. The thruhike is daunting and putting a page together for it is even more daunting. thanks for the info. chao

in need of being fleshed out

A page on the entire JMT would be a big deal, but as this is categorized as a route to Mt Whitney, perhaps it could at least focus on the access points to the trail that work best for climbing Whitney over the length of a 'typical' (like e.g. 3-6 days) backpacking trip, for example. I can see that was attempted, but I don't think the information is presented in a way that one could relate to without already being a local, and knowing it all anyway. It would be good if mileages and elevation gains for routes to/from various access points were given so that one could get a clearer idea of the possibilities. Are there other access points besides Crabtree Meadows and the Whitney Portal, or not? Where are the places people typically camp on this route? How is water availability? I probably learned more from the SEKI and Sierra Nevada pages about this route than from this page.

Re: in need of being fleshed out

I agree with all these comments. I intended but never got around to adding all the info that I planned. I'm planning some needed updates.

Re: in need of being fleshed out

Great, looking forward to seeing how it turns out. I've been thinking of doing this route, so that's why I'm bothering you about it ;)
