Voted 10/10 | I love how you captured the reflection from such a high altitude. The fog adds to it too! Beautiful mountains, beautiful lake, great shot! | | Posted Jan 6, 2005 2:55 pm |

Hasn't voted | Your pictures possess something about them that seems almost unreal. It is captured masterfully in this one, and the reflection is to die for. | | Posted Jan 6, 2005 4:16 pm |

Hasn't voted | Fortunate to get that reflection, eh? | | Posted Jan 6, 2005 4:54 pm |

Hasn't voted | Fortunate to have nice weather. Have you ever been to Silver Lake?
This scenery rivals that of Austera Peak and the Eldorado Icecap. Every northwest hiker/climber should visit the place once before they die...but I shouldn't say that lest the place be overrun by gumbies. | | Posted Jan 6, 2005 5:24 pm |

Hasn't voted | Haven't made it there yet, but I hope to, if I live long enough. Have had some good looks from Copper Ridge and Desolation Peak in years past. Hopefully, the access will remain obtuse enough to dissuade the gumbies. | | Posted Jan 6, 2005 6:10 pm |

Hasn't voted | I also concur--with all the quality stuff Paul's submitted, it's about time he grabbed a POW, and I can think of no shot better than this to be selected. | | Posted Jan 7, 2005 6:05 pm |

Voted 10/10 | Maybe the best pic I've seen on this site. What an incredible blue! | | Posted Jan 7, 2005 11:31 pm |
 | | Klenke | Re: Picture of the year! (Silver Lake) | |
Hasn't voted | Thanks. But the year is early yet. 355 days remain for this shot to be superceded. And superceded it shall be. However, I do think this is the first time I've ever had a photo reach the first page of the Best Of page. And I didn't even have to downvote those above me.
Also, I spotted a photo of the same scene in winter conditions. Click on the link in the caption. | | Posted Jan 9, 2005 12:29 pm |

Voted 10/10 | Hey Klenke good work on this photo. An incredible shot and defenitely worth the effort of getting up there I'm sure. Glad U got a photo of the week!:) | | Posted Jan 12, 2005 8:54 am |

Hasn't voted | Thanks.
Now that I have had a picture of the week I have been able to understand this whole downvoting issue from personal experience. You will note my photo is no longer on the first Best Of page. The current rating for my photo is 3.9189189 stars with 37 votes cast. This combination can only come about if one person gave the photo 1 star.
All I can say is this is all very interesting, but changes my life by a factor of zero. Besides, my battle plan has always been carpet bombing, not precision strikes (i.e., quantity over quality). | | Posted Jan 12, 2005 12:21 pm |

Voted 10/10 | Whoever gave your photo one star was an idiot! Keep up the quality shots as well as the quantityI Happy Climbing:) | | Posted Jan 12, 2005 3:40 pm |

Hasn't voted | Geez I hadnt heard that term in a few years...reminds me of my previous life as a B-52 pilot. Nice pic... after seeing your winter pic I think I will stick to summer! | | Posted Jan 12, 2005 7:45 pm |
| Ragu | Beautiful. | |
Voted 10/10 | There's not much to say here, but... beautiful! The right time of the year with the right conditions for snow/rock contrast. Nicely done. | | Posted Jan 14, 2005 2:05 am |
