After 25 days in the wilderness, we were at the foot of the peak. Well, almost. It felt like we were, but in reality it was still 19km afar.

Thanks!
I loved to arrive there after so many days of struggling. What I didn't like was the fact that I was too wasted to make an attempt on this wonderful, unclimbed peak.

It's a really nice-looking peak and that was why famous explorer Sven Hedin choose to baptize it after a the Swedish king at the time.

I think the whole area is surreal. So many strange colors and shapes and the total isolation completes the feeling of being..."not really on earth".

Fascinating photo from a fascinating adventure! What's the altitude difference between this point and the summit?

Thanks for letting me dream away a bit during a dull dutch winter day..

Cheers,

Rick

Thanks for the comment.
It was really a fascinating adventure. So far into the wilderness and such beautiful surroundings. The feeling of being the only two humans within perhaps 300km was also amazing.

The altitude where the photo is shot is about 5100, so about 1200m meters up to the summit.

It did!
It's was like a magic force pulling us there. Good we didn't gave in and tried. I hadn't been here today then. The force kept on pulling though and four years later we went back and climbed it.
