Another shot of Jokulsarlon....
Another shot of Jokulsarlon. This is about an hour east of Hvannadalshnukur on the Ring Road and a great nearby place to see and take a tour of.

Ooh you are SO right! This would be an excellent place to take the yaks. We might have an issue on the drive though. ;- )

Ha ha. That'd be nice, eh? Hopefully, you'd have a boat for the belay or that'd be one cold day.

Hey, did you do a polar bear club tribute in an orange speedo?,it almost looks as warm as the water off of Molakini crater in Maui.

Ha, yeah I had stripped down to my thong and was about ready to jump in but the seals barked protest and were baring their teeth at me if I was going to get anywhere near their water with my pasty lily-white self. ;- ) (there's a pretty visual for ya, huh?)

I think most people (myself included) would have passed this by without realizing what a great shot it makes. Congrats, well-deserved Photo Of Week..

Thanks, seems weird that a non-mountain shot made it but actually this is on the edge of the glacier that Hvannadalshnukur is on. Thanks for the nice words, Nelson.

Thanks, Mark. I think overcast days allow some colors to really come out. Plus, the various blues in the ice were just cool and I'm glad they turned out in this one. Appreciate the nice words!
