Traverse to bowling alley on West side of Prouty pinnacle. Hard snow made crampons and ice ax a must. 7/11/04

Cornvallis and I were the group coming back across the traverse yesterday. I went first and Cornvallis followed. Were you in the second party that was annoyed with the first party?

Yep, CLUCK is actually 2 of us... climbing partners both named Scott. We ran into the 3rd party of 2 lower on the ridge and decided to let them climb with us because they didn't have crampons and we heard from someone on Saturday that there was water ice in the bowling alley. They seemed like good guys. Just before the traverse, we ran into the 1st party of 2 who were supposed to have climbed N. Sis before and knew the route. The other 4 or us were all 1st timers. We let Party #1 lead out to set the fixed line, but they ended up making some technical mistakes that we had to help them reorganize mid way. Sorry you had to deal with the mess. I guess you learn about mid climb partnerships the hard way sometimes but, everyone lived to tell the tale.
