I awoke at Timber Lake to this view on the day I wanted to summit Clark Peak (August 31, 2003). The summit was up there somewhere. However, it wasn’t raining and there was no thunder or lightning so I decided to go for it. The ceiling continued to drop from where it was in this photo and I entered the clouds at about 11,500 ft. For the next 1,500 ft to the summit I wouldn’t be able to see more than 200 ft in any direction. For more photos from my climb of Clark Peak and Rawah Wilderness visit my website: www.leachfam.com.
