The Famous Ski HutSan Antonio Ski Hut (SASH) is the famous hut just outside of Baldy Bowl on Mt. San Antonio, AKA Mt Baldy. This hut was built in 1937 by the Ski Mountaineers, and has undergone many improvements and repairs by volunteers over the past 70+ years.
All Mt Baldy regulars and locals are familiar with the hut. It's a great place to stop on the way up the famous Ski Hut Trail route up to the summit of Mt Baldy.
The hut offers sleeping for 24, a full kitchen and living room, solar power (with 2 solar panels and 2 heavy duty marine batteries enough DC powder for the weekend), and constant free-running water, taken directly from the spring. Day use is $1, and overnight use for Sierra Club members is $10, with non-members paying $15.
If you wish to stay at the hut, please contact the caretakers. Their information is available in the second link in "External Links" section of this page. For further history and information on the hut, please consult the first link.
