Howell's Hut on the summit of...

Howell's Hut on the summit of Nelion. This microscopic lodge is well constructed and had some foam insulation. It was toasty warm with four climbers stuffed inside, at 17000 feet. The U-shaped Gorges Valley and Lake Michelson inside it are in right-center of photo. January 2006

Hahaha, must be exciting to reach a hut on a summit! Highest hut in AFrica?

Oh yeah indeed! It's got to be the highest hut in Africa, although it was hardly a "hut" in the real sense of the word. Still it was great to be sheltered from the elements at 17000 feet!
