Brushfest!
I had to start hiking much further below (about 1.5 miles above Crown King) as the Senator Highway was very eroded making for a 14 mile roundtrip hike. The old trail was extremely overgrown initially and it got more open once I reached the main ridge for a short part. Then when the trail petered out it got very brushy in particular manzanita again. So overall a really classic mid elevation AZ brushfest! The summit is pretty cool though and the views are very nice.

Birthday hike
A short, brushy hike but with great views at the end and worth all the trouble of getting there. Good way to celebrate the big 4-4.
