Thanks Don and welcome to the ever increasing list of my English teachers :-) I was too busy with labelling that pano that I forgot proof reading. I might have found some of the mistakes you pointed out.

Maybe you should ask Claude. He knows these things. I would say it must have something to do with smuggling as an important route crosses the ridge close by. But I don't know.
