Route Climbed: A.T. Northbound Date Climbed: Sept. 30 2005  Sucess!

I have lived in Jersey for 18 years and been hiking in Jersey for at least 10 years, this was the first time that I hiked to the state's high point. I drove up once in the winter about 12 years ago but to me, that did not count. The day was very clear. I could see the Catskills, and the Delaware Water Gap.

Route Climbed: Monument Trail Date Climbed: August 4, 2005

Enjoyed High Point. Nice views I didn't think possible in NJ. Clear morning for the most part, but it was TOO hot!

The second time I went to High Point was 10/31/08. It was days after a rare October snowstorm hit the State. I made a trip report about it

Route Climbed: Road Date Climbed: Many Times  Sucess!

This is a nice little mountain for being in New Jersey. It's got great views all around. Very windy most times that I've been there. They say you can see NYC on a clear day, but I've never seen it from here myself.

Fitting for New Jersey that it should have a giant concrete monument on its highest point. And that is in a constant state of repair. I've been at the summit maybe over 10 times and I've yet to climb the momument cause its always closed for some reason.

Route Climbed: AT all the way from Georgia Date Climbed: June 1998 and August 1992  Sucess!

I love the view on a clear day. So far both times I've been there, the monument has been closed for repairs. Bears are active in the area. Be careful if camping along the trail.

Route Climbed: Southwest "Ridge" Date Climbed: 16 September 2004  Sucess!

At the conclusion of a business trip that took me to Hazelton, PA, I made the side trip out to High Point State Park. After parking in the AT lot, I jogged from the park gate along the road and up the route that I took this past winter. I took pictures to replace those that were lost when my computer self-destructed earlier this year, before I could back them up. It was a nice run in moderate temps.

Route Climbed: Southwest "Ridge" Date Climbed: 31 January 2004  Sucess!

I parked at the Interpretive Center and snowshoed beside the road for awhile before breaking off onto an unmaintained XC trail that took me directly to the summit. It was windy but not too cold, and the views were great!

Route Climbed: Appalachian Trail (NoBo) Date Climbed: Feb 2, 2002  Sucess!

Very windy and surprisingly cold, even for February. I can see the entire breadth of the Garden State from here, even as far as the 'Gunks up in NY state.
