Hermosa Peak Sunrise

Well, now that Aaron has let the cat out of the bag regarding one of my favorite secret spots, I better add to it! In the pantheon of cloud-scraping high peaks in Colorado, Hermosa Peak is a comparatively small mountain, yet it stands as a beautiful landmark in a seldom-visited part of the mighty San Juan Mountains. Add to that the many lush meadows and excellent camping spots surrounding Hermosa, and you have a prime example of Colorado at its best. photo © Todd Caudle
