Heading east on the Machame /...
Heading east on the Machame / Shira Plateau Route from Shira Hut to Lava Tower or Barranco Hut. The route to Lava Tower (sticking up just a little on the horizon) goes up the shallow saddle in the middle of the photo while the route to Barranco goes to the right. January 14, 2002.
