Halverson bar,Snake river canyon south of Boise

There is no shortage of "melon gravel"here,which are giant chunks of basalt which were picked up by the Bonneville flood around 15,000 years ago,swirled and tumbled by the tremendous force of the water,and left on bars all along the Snake river and its drainages.
