Had to do this - sorry. I also had seen the Cadini only in the clouds. So I could connect to your statement. And we really had two perfect days - had to wait a lot though...
My wife and I made our first "climb in the Dolomites" on Torre Wundt behind the Rifugio Fonda Savio, shown so well in your picture. But that's all I've seen of the Cadini until now. I especially love the Marmarole and Sorapis panorama picture. Congratulations on the good weather!
you're always thinking badly of everything :)
PS - I gave you admin rights to Cadini page : now you can (must) insert, in the correct sections, your sunny photos :)
ciao
oops, I was forgetting ... from the Cima del Col di Varda I didnt succeed in seeing the Misurina lake :)

Re: Awesome place
Ok, I see, now you have your revenge. I guess it'll take some time though... I'm in for some underwater hiking in the Allgäu Alps this weekend - 100% rain probability. Bah!

Re: Awesome place
Did my part to colour up the page. I didn't change anything in the text (except the Getting There section), just added and replaced pictures.
of really wonderful impressive pictures. I was only once in the Cadini, long, long time ago and obviously I forgot how beautiful it is there. But how could I ??? I want to go there immediately !! And it will start to snow next week, gggrrrrrrr .......
Congratulations, Michael :-))
Both times I visited the Dolomites near Sassolungo/St. Ulrich and Cortina D'Ampezzo, the weather was dicey: either raining or sleeting or cold & windy--which was really unfortunate for me as I wanted to do more hiking there then parade around Tre Cime.
Thanks for the great photos/trip report!

Re: True about the weather
Actually we used the two best days to explore the Cadini. In between we had the weather you describe - everything but perfect ...

Re: In the middle...Hope you didn't fall asleep during the remainder of the read. Can't be that thrilling if croissants are more interesting :-)
