Foolish?

You don't seem foolish to me, seems like some good decision making probably saved you from even greater misery. And at that point I'm sure there must have been great temptation to push on and not 'waste" the effort of your approach.

Nothing wrong with getting away from things for a few days either!

Great TR, photos, chops

Dude! That was great writing. Beautiful photos! I was in there last year, via truck, and it was intimidating.

You've got more mojo and juju than you think. Great energy, stamina, endurance, judgment in extremis, writing skills, and experiences. Time for some deep, long rest to feel better.

Helping other people, as a volunteer, gets one interacting with other good people, both clients and others. Swimming laps is easier on the body, keeps you warmer, and helps you sleep better.

Congratulations on your perseverance. That is another step up in conditioning strength, and confidence as to what you'll be able to survive if you have to.

Now, just got to focus it in on quiet steady apps for school, job, or creating a business. Way to go.

Jobs at Boeing

I heard at the tour of the Everett Boeing plant last spring that they would be hiring 5,000 people this year, for a major new expansion. That usually means non-construction staff too, in finance, planning, writing of manuals, proposals, marketing materials.

Also indirect jobs will be created in related industries. You could start your own business too, offering services as a writer, with related photos, without having to claim pro photo skills.

County, UW, WSU, or community colleges have SBA Small Business Development Center classes and counselors to direct you to the right forms, bid openings, and contracting officers. Lots of helpful people wanting to help others get through this cycle.

Re: Jobs at Boeing

I like the Boeing idea if I could find something there. I've never been into the idea of starting a business myself. No confidence or ambition for it. I know there are programs out there to get me on my feet. I'm enrolled in one right now for biotech. Can't say I'm doing great though.
