Fineilspitze NE ridge panorama

Seen from the Hochjochferner to the north of the Hauslabjoch (3279m), the saddle left of center. The NE ridge of the Fineilspitze (3516m) starts at the saddle and gradually gets steeper. At first, you can just walk, but higher up it's a nice rock scramble. The first time I was there, in 2004, it was in a near total white-out. Coming from the south, we had managed to cross the glacier safely and find the saddle, which already was a good thing, and continued to the Similaunhütte without climbing the summit. We did stop by the Ötzi monument - supposedly at the place where the mummy was found. A few years later, I found myself back again, but this time around it was a glorious day! We had just traversed the mountain, starting at the Schöne Aussicht Hütte. September 7, 2007.
