Splitboard descent
Very rare opportunity to ski this peak. Only one skiable line on the east face. Parked at a small power station just off the road on the east side, hiked .5 miles to the base of the gully, booted up with the board on the pack. Very windy on the summit. The windblown snow was very deep just off the summit rim, then had to walk down about ~200 vertical feet of super thin snow pack (rocks and plants exposed), then ~1500 feet of very good turns back down to the base. So cool. Possibly the first ever ski/snowboard descent of this mountain?

Hiked the service road
Road hike after doing Chalk across the street earlier.
Cold and windy atop the ridge. Most of the approach route burned during the Fairview Fire last summer.
Quick hike up, xc from the fault lines. Watched the RAG doing low-pops on B-17 for a bit, then went down the road and traversed xc back to the car.

I camped just east of here after hiking Desatoya the night before and I was on my way to hike Star Peak next. There is a very cool earthquake faultline at the base of this peak on the east side.
