Approach

It is located in Echo Rock Area which is very easy accessible - just east of Hidden Valley Campground.
Although there is a singular Echo Rock, the entire area is made up of several formations and granite corridors.

This route is located in the Mounds (small formation to the east of echo rock, next to the west face of Little Hunk), but it is on a separate formation slightly to the north of the main rock. A single left leaning crack splits a rounded west-facing rock.

Take the road just past Hidden Valley Campground to the Echo Rock parking area. Echo Rock is the huge slaby rock clearly visible from the lot.

Route Description

Single left leaning crack splits a rounded west-facing rock. It could be a highball boulder problem as well, but the crux is definitely near the top so watch out!

The bottom section is easy with a nice juggy crack to pull up on. The top is slaby and becomes difficult to protect, going from loose to cupped hand jams. The route is very short and fairly technical, not a good 5.8 intro climb.

Essential Gear

Bottom protects well with mid-sized cams.
Upper section takes larger (#3 or #4 BD) gear.
Awkward gear anchor with small cams and nuts.
