Disappearing Rabbit Trick

Disappearing Rabbit Trick

Follow the rabbit tracks. BAM! The tracks suddenly end where the wing prints of an owl start. This picture was taken by a friend of a friend who teaches in Bethel,Alaska. Photo by Susan Barstow.

Cool, but no

Sorry guys, I took almost the exact same picture while ice fishing in Nordegg AB, except its a raven that landed, no rabbit in sight. Its still an awesome picture and something really cool to see in person.

Edit: On second thought, there's blood on the snow, so who knows!

WOW

I just wonder if the owl was coming at the rabbit from the front why didn't the rabbit run away? It had to have seen the owl coming?

Re: Evidence....

Thanks for your comments. I hope to visit with my friend from Alaska in a few weeks who was there when the photo was taken. I plan on quizzing her about this spectacular image.

Great photo!

I'm sure it is a coincidence, but when I worked in the natural resources field in Wisconsin a few years ago, I swear someone emailed me this exact photo, also taken by someone in Alaska! I wasn't an original recipient, it just eventually got forwarded to me.

OWL ATTACK!!!!!

This is soooo cool. That's an epic photo. Absolutely incredible. The patterning in the snow is possibly more amazing than seeing the actual attack itself.

I just gave it vote #

250!!! I think we need to break for a Pink
Floyd tune:

"Run, rabbit run!
Dig that hole, forget the sun,
And when at last the work is done;
Don't sit down, it's time to dig another one."

The food chain in action

One of the coolest pictures I've seen. I'd hang that on the wall if I had that.
