Route Climbed: Parking Lot, Bear Den, Dial, Nippletop, Elk Pass Date Climbed: November 2, 2002  Sucess!

Hiked in the snow all the way. Descending was a lot of fun. The Great Range was beautiful to see. I was glad I chose a clear day for this route.

I had lunch on the big rock near the sign, summit or no summit it was a great view.

The loop took me 7hr 45min to complete.

Route Climbed: Down from Nippletop Date Climbed: July 6th 2002  Sucess!

A new set of signs and some good trail maintenace by the ATS (Adirondack Trail Society) made this a good days hiking.

The new sign at the lookout will of course make everyone think they are at the summit but it all depends on who you talk to.

This was the first time I was in the area since the 1999 fire and I was very impressed by the great views it created.

One also sees how fast mother nature recalims its own as it is completly covered in 1 m high popular and will be totaly over grown in a few more years.

I wish I came a few weeks later as the place is awash in rasberrys and would of made for a good snack.
