It is a most interesting place, also, from a geological standpoint. Your profile says you are a geologist so you may appreciate this: The very hard and dense granite rocks still retain a polish left over from the ice age glaciers of over ten thousand years ago!

Love those lakes!I camped out on the eastern edge of Ropi last time out last year, and love this picture you posted. I can't wait for the snow to melt and for the blue and green to be seen again. That series of lakes is heaven on earth! Thanks for posting! See you in the back country! ~Gregg
