Sweet Mountain. Great views of Jersey and P.A. A classic to climb over and over.

Route Climbed: AT and Mount Tamany Trail Date Climbed: August 1, 2000  Sucess!

I've climbed both Tamany and Minsi in startlingly different circumstances. Tamany was sunny, hot, and sweltering. Minsi was at night, in November and quite cold. Still, the views from each were excellent if you ignored the roar of the semis on I80 down below.

All in all, the Delaware Water Gap is an impressive place. Definitely worth a visit. I'll also put in a plug for Sunfish Pond--southernmost glacial tarn I know of in the eastern US.

Route Climbed: Multiple Date Climbed: Multiple  Sucess!

Shirley's and my hiking careers (at least our hiking career together) started here. We did a bunch of trails in the area including going up Tammany a few times.....and scuba dived the Delaware in the area once. It's a beautiful and (thankfully) underused outdoor destination considering it's only 1 - 1.5 hrs drive time from GWB and the industrial wastelands of NJ Turnpike :)

Want to do a technical rock climb or two next time we're there.
