It was an early morning that held a surprise for both Mike, Courtney and I. An unexpected snowstorm hit the desert and really piled up the snow on the peak. Courtney wrote a fun trip report called "gloriously unprepared" that details the events. Both of these guys were fun to hike with and have gone on to do many amazing things. Courtney is an author of a great guidebook for many of the desert peaks. Yes, those orange running shorts are what he intends to wear on Mt, Everest which will fulfill his goal of being the first to summit Everest in orange shorts.
