Crossing the Beaver

Here's me crossing Big Beaver Creek to get to Access Creek on July 3 & 5, 2006. Note how the water level has risen after a showery July 4. This was the only log we could find. I doubt it will last longer than this summer and fall. (In late summer you can apparently ford the creek but not now.) The log is 30 minutes up-trail from Luna Camp and 20 minutes off-trail to the creek through unpleasant bogs, brush, black flies, and skeeters. Photos by Sergio Verdina.

Not as hard as it looks and really not as spooky either. Sandals a must to get up steepish, brushy bank on other side. Send me an email [see my profile] if you want a synopsis of our trip and beta for the log crossing, etc. (we didn't get Fury but I got Luna).

I like the arm out Paul, like your riding that baby. Reminds me of that shot from Forbidden.

So Sergio has been up Access Creek twice for Luna and Fury and only gotten Luna twice. That's a bummer.
