Snow consolidation in Crescent CouloirHey! I'm curious what people think is a good amount of time to let snow consolidate before skiing a couloir like crescent. Any personal guidelines you go by would be great to hear.
Current scenario: It snowed 17" Wednesday evening, with a few inches since then. I'd love to ski it this weekend, Saturday or Sunday, I figure 3-4 days is a good amount of time to let it consolidate, especially as avvy danger is pretty low right now, and while there's a risk of some deeper slabs from january, I doubt they'd be an issue in the couloir where the rock and concavity tends to hold snow a little better.
We'll probably end up skiing something a little less rowdy, but still would love any thoughts for future ascents.
