Dangerous ?

Why did you go there if the night was not cold to freeze the snow ? One week before, the snow was colder and it was a lot of rockfall and avalanche here even during the nights.

Re: Dangerous ?

Well... we actually approached the route sospiciously but nothing fell down that day. Anyway we've been pretty fast (1hour and 20' from the glacier to the summit ridge). I think that, because of the unsual high temperature we had for several days before we made the climb, whatever had to fall actually fell (there was very little of snow onto the rocks sourronding the couloir).

Re: Dangerous ?

You're right, everything had probably felt before (stones and the new snow of mid May). This couloir is only exposed to the sun a short time each day and it takes more time for the new snow to be purged.
