Foundand not carried out. But, I guess in the old times they weren't as environmentaly aware as we are. You coul also say, this is a relic that adds a line or two to the history, and that's why Dave Beedon decided to leave it there.

Re: FoundNormally I would agree that something like that would be best carried out and taken care of but in this case, it turned out to be like a bit of treasure. I knew it was on that saddle but could only guess where. Then Mike found it. Kind of fun.

Re: FoundAgreed. I am surprised at the condition of the can. It's not as weathered as you would expect. I am also surprised it didn't get kicked around by the wind and ended up much lower on the ridge. Who left the bamboo stick there? or did you guys put your own stick therte to give a sense of dimension?

Found canI found the can during my exploratory scramble on Cobb; it was the only sign of human presence I encountered. I left it there as an item of interest for anyone who might come this way again. The bamboo hiking stick does double duty as a scale device for photos.
