"After the first glass, you see things as you wish they were. After the second, you see things as they are not. Finally, you see things as they really are, which is the most horrible thing in the world."

WinterSo I went up the southwest ridge right out of the Canyon bottom. And i got turned around about a quarter mile or a half mile from the summit because I got clifed out (an experienced climber might do it but I'm a rookie) and I wasn't comfortable with the snow fields on rock scree.
If your doing a winter ascent I would recommend from the East.

Above The CloudsOn the particular day I summited, the entire expanse of eastern Colorado plains were blanketed in clouds. As far as my eye could see, majestic clouds formed what looked like a white ocean. This climb ranked as one of my favorite summit days ever. Even on a normal day, it is a fun climb and highly recommended. Just note that it's on private property, so approach with caution and Leave No Trace.

Jacks, Crescent, Coal CreekThe wife, pup and I left from the church on CO-72, and climbed these three peaks. There were hundreds and hundreds of lady bugs everywhere!

Fun ridge scrambleNice outing. Did this, then continued over to Crescent. About 1.5 hours from road to summit.
