By the way, did you know that on Licancabur two ancient ritual sites were discovered by archeologists - one on the top of the volcano, and one near the lake in the crater? Apparently, it was a place where gold was sacrificed to the gods...

Yes I know!
In fact, look at the TR's photos, you'll see one on the TR (just bellow the summit crater), and another one I just uploaded right now of the bigger ruins at the base (around 4700m high).
Inkas did several, several constructions atop several volcanoes at the Atacama mainly, and even more along the border with Argentina, after all, there are 2035 volcanoes in Chile alone, yes, two thounsand!
